Wanganui has "one of the best" district health boards, says the head of a Crown entity set up to improve health care.
"We regard you as one of the best DHBs around the country," said Health Quality and Safety Commission chief executive Dr Janice Wilson at the Whanganui District Health Board's (WDHB) meeting on Friday. "You've been really engaged with us."
Dr Wilson and the commission's board chairman, Alan Merry, were travelling around the country to speak to health board members about issues DHBs worried about and how to help with those.
He said Wanganui was "very strong" in adverse event reporting.
"People like you that are reporting well, that's fabulous," Mr Merry said.
