The Greens education policy includes the establishment of hubs in schools that would provide wraparound services for students and their families.
"All the lower decile schools we've spoken to around the country are very excited by the idea." Ms Delahunty said.
Mr Clendon, as tertiary education spokesman, said he is impressed the Wanganui Community Education Service is managing to provide such a good range of courses despite the cuts to the sector in 2009.
"We have been talking to Adult and Community Education providers around the country and they have lost a lot of courses."
Both MPs support the Labour party's proposal to provide $20 million to the adult education sector.
"With the baby boom bulge coming through over the next few years, it's really important that adults have education options." said Mr Clendon. "Labour and the Greens are very much in accord on that one," Miss Delahunty said.
The MPs said it doesn't matter what people choose to study because education is always a good investment for society and community classes can be a "toe in the water" for someone who hasn't studied for a while.
