Hamilton East Lions' annual book fair is on this weekend.
The four-day book bargain bonanza opened its doors at Peachgrove Intermediate School yesterday. In a new move, organisers have plumped for an extra day to maximise sales and help raise funds for the Cancer Society's Lion's Lodge on the former
Braemar Hospital site.
The fair is open today until 5pm and will run 9-5pm tomorrow and 10-3pm on Sunday.
The annual bookfair is the club's major annual fund raiser.
All club members are involved in the project which involves the collection, transport, sorting, storage and displaying of thousands of books. Help this year has come from the Hamilton Boys' High School Leo Club - a breeding ground for young Lions.
