The Taranaki dog trial season has now come to an end with Brad Bielski (Mangamingi) and his huntaway Jade taking out the honour of Taranaki's Top Dog for this year.
Brad has had a great season in the Taranaki competition with nine placings with his three dogs and five of them were wins.
He also won the Humes Taranaki Centre Champs Zig Zag Hunt at Mangamingi on April 23 with his dog Jade, proving what a winning team they are.
The South Island Championships began on Monday in Warepa, Otago, with five Taranaki competitors travelling down to compete.
Mark Duffy (Hawera) and his wife Olivia have also travelled down but with a more serious job at hand. Mark will be judging the Straight Hunt and Oliver will be his clerk.
The NI and NZ Championships start on May 29 at Whangara, Poverty Bay, with at least 12 Taranaki competitors competing. Good luck to them all.
