In a lot of ways, TVs and fireplaces make the perfect pairing. When placed on the same wall together, they create an instant focal point.

But often the ideal TV position is compromised by fireplace heat and installation restrictions. Until now, that is.

Escea's latest fireplace series allows the TV to be placed closer to the fireplace than ever before, without sacrificing heat or efficiency.

The clearance height is 200mm from the top of the firebox, and that's without the need for a mantle.

"Most people want to have the TV as low as possible for more comfortable TV viewing. Escea gas fireplaces are known for their design flexibility. When their latest fireplace came out with its lowered TV clearance I was stoked to be able to offer this to our customers, as I know how popular TVs above the fire are," Paul Graham, Home Heating.

Design Tips

For best proportions, try to match the size of your screen to the size of your firebox.

Blend the TV into the rest of the accent wall and to ensure that both the fireplace and the TV have a few common, connecting design elements

For a seamless look, inset the TV into the wall cavity.

Store AV equipment away in hidden cabinetry to the side of the cavity, or underneath the firebox.

If you don't love the look of a black screen, check out Samsung's clever TV range The Frame (TV that looks like art) or QLED TV with "Ambient Mode" that can blend in with your surround wall.
