The remarkable Zed story can take another staggering leap forward in today's A$150,000 ($179,350) Grand Prix in Brisbane.

The New Zealand Baker/Forsman stable will be represented by two sons of Zed in Usainity and Ambitious Champion in the group three staying contest.

The former $500 stallion can take the race with these two talented 3-year-olds.

Ambitious Champion is making his Australian debut and does not have the ringcraft of his stablemate, but has equal ability.

Much has been made this week on Australian television tipping shows about how erratic Ambitious Champion is - and you can see how that opinion could be formed by watching electronic images of his New Zealand races - but much of it has not been of his own making.

The barrier draws No13 (Usainity) and No15 look bad on paper, but those will come in significantly when the emergencies are withdrawn, and the pair have two very tough jockeys in Hugh Bowman and Jonathan Riddell.

Lisa Latta will be looking for her Australian campaign to continue on its roll when Zennista takes on the last race in Brisbane with Leith Innes in the saddle. A tough opponent will be fellow New Zealander, but more recently Australian-based Ginga Dude.

The 59kg topweight will be tough for him, but Ginga Dude will find this race a lot easier than the Hollindale Stakes, won by Lights of Heaven.

At Ellerslie, Master Michael (No2, R1) with Opie Bosson aboard will find the drop back from open company a relief.

Catalan King (No1, R2) probably should have won a race by now - he has five seconds from 10 starts - but from a handy draw and with Alex Forbes taking 1kg off his back he'll get his chance again today. Zabinella (No11) looks a danger.

Abeautiful Red (No6, R3) is a value runner. Her first-up fifth was only just okay, but she is likely to have improved. For first-four players, don't totally ignore topweight Taking The Mickey (No1).

The Baker/Forsman team can take Race 4 with Mackadoo (No2). He should be just about ready after two runs this preparation. John Gray (No1) has a lot of weight, but this is his sort of race.

Hera (No1, R5) has the form to suggest she can win the Foal Stakes and Peria Princess (No4) and Frances (No2) are great chances.

Chapstick (No4, R8) was beaten at Te Rapa last startbut go on her huge fast-finishing second when resuming the time before at Paeroa. She should win a good race on that performance.

At Trentham today Negotiate (No2, R4) and I Am Sam (No1, R8) can improve sharply on their beaten efforts last start. Who Shot Thebarman (No2, R9) only has to live up to his maiden debut win form to round out the programme there.
