The Western Heights High School senior A volleyball team have cruised into the semifinals of the New Zealand Secondary Schools Senior Volleyball Championships.
The national champs are being staged at Arena Manawatu in Palmerston North this week.
BOP boys' champions Western Heights won their quarter-final 3-0 this morning against RiccartonHigh School (Christchurch) 25-21, 25-22, 25-19.
Western Heights had earlier progressed undefeated through pool play.
The Rotorua school will play the winner of the fourth quarter-final, between Otumoetai College and Westlake Boys' High School, in their semifinal at 5pm this evening.
Tauranga Boys' College A crashed out this morning bringing an end to their hopes of winning three straight titles at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Senior Volleyball Championships.
Tauranga Boys' were beaten by Heathfield High School (Australia) this morning in their quarter 3-1.
No Rotorua schools qualified for the quarter-finals of the girls' first division, also played this morning.
