The Town versus Country match is a relatively new concept, introduced this year by the Bay of Plenty District Rugby League.
The match sees players from Rotorua, Taupo and Reporoa clubs (Town) go up against adversaries from Tokoroa, Mangakino and Putaruru clubs (Country).
The game doubles as a trial for the Bay of Plenty provincial side, which Unuwai also coaches and selects.
"It's a great concept. They don't just come together for a trial," Unuwai said. "It puts more spark into it because they are playing for their province, so it brings out more in the players."
In the first Town versus Country game held last month, Town managed to win the clash 46-14.
However, Unuwai said it could be a lot closer this time around.
"A lot of the Pacific [Rugby League Club] guys were away for the last game. If the Country team can utilise more of those Pacific guys it should be a really difficult match."
He said he had made about six changes to the Town team, mainly because of injuries or younger players dropping out with the earlier Upper Central Zone matches.
Unuwai said he had an eye on a number of players heading into the game for selection in the Bay of Plenty provincial team.
He said he had about half a dozen guys in mind who would definitely be named in the team; the rest would have to prove to him they should be there.
"I will catch up with the ones on the verge before the game and have a word to them about what I'm looking for, and hopefully they can perform," Unuwai said.
He said he hoped to name a full 20-man Bay of Plenty squad within two weeks. The Bay of Plenty provincial side will play against Waikato later this year.
The Country team is coached by Tokoroa's Riki Nicholls.
There are no Bay of Plenty District Rugby League premier matches being played today.
