Trident High Schoolhad a large and well-drilled forward pack that put a lot of pressure on the Taupo forwards who had to valiantly defend their line on many occasions.
As soon as the Taupo-nui-a-Tia College forwards gained some momentum their talented backline found some gaps that they exploited. Thomas Orr scored one of his trademark length of the field tries and Ayden Inglis slotted crucial kicks throughout the game.
Many of the boys in this team have been playing rugby together since early primary school days and have gone through the U14 and U15 grades at college with Craig Katene as their coach.
