The Bay of Plenty Under 14 and 15 representative teams will get their chance to shine when they square off against their Waikato counterparts at Greerton Park in the Western Bay of Plenty tomorrow.

Several years ago the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union decided to concentrate their resources on player skills development, instead of a representative programme, for the most promising Under 14 and 15 players in the region.

This season's format started with a large pool of players who were invited to development sessions in the union's regions.

The sessions, which were run during late August and September, were facilitated by a mixture of the union's staff coaches and the Under 14 and 15 representative coaches plus their support personnel.

From the regional development days, Eastern Bay, Western Bay and Central (Rotorua) Sub-Unions sides were selected to play in the Union's Under 14 and 15 Sub-Union series, at Paengaroa on October 2.
