Rotorua's Whakarewarewa rugby team will line up for the match of the round when they visit last year's Baywide champions Te Puke.

Whakarewarewa currently sit in third place, on the 10-team ladder, and will play away against undefeated Te Puke tomorrow.

Both sides boast good defensive records this season in the Bay of Plenty premier division.

Whakarewarewa have only leaked 67 points in four games this year, while Te Puke have been especially stingy, conceding only 53 points.

Whakarewarewa coach Maurice Stone believed the match would be a good test for his side.

He said they were relying on some solid defence his year and were looking forward to the challenge tomorrow.

"We've got a few systems in place, like a few of the other teams, and we are just taking a bit of pride in not letting sides cross our line," Stone said.

"It basically comes down to guys working hard defensively."

However, he said they would like to put a few more points on the board in attack.

"I think we've got a pretty good attacking team but the area we are working on is holding on to our ball and utilising it a bit better. If we do that, I think we've got as good a chance as anyone to score points."

Stone said, for example, they probably should have scored a few extra points against Opotiki last weekend but lost too much ball.

With more rain forecast for the weekend, Te Puke coach Craig Jeffries said his side would need to be on their toes.

In other games tomorrow, Greerton Marist will host Rotoiti in a match that sees both teams sharing a 2-2 win-loss record.

Te Puna will host Rangataua, Mount Maunganui host Opotiki, and undefeated Tauranga Sports visit Paroa.

No premier games are being played in Rotorua tomorrow.

Reserve grade draw (all games start at 2.45pm):

Marist St Michael's v Ngongotaha (Marist Park 1), Rangiuru v Kahukura (Centennial Park 1), Te Teko v Katikati (Dunderdale Park 1), Waikite v Ruatoki (Bellvue Road 1) and Whakatane Marist v Poroporo (Rugby Park 2).

Points table: Rangiuru 18, Poroporo 18, Kahukura 15, Whakatane 14, Ngongotaha 11, Katikati 11, Marist St. Michael's 5, Waikite 4, Ruatoki 1, Te Teko 1.
