Rotorua Maroon have suffered their first loss of the 2014 Tai Mitchell tournament, losing 20-12 to Tauranga West.
Meanwhile, Rotorua Gold have bounced back well from their big first round defeat to Tauranga East on Friday. The Rotorua Gold side lost a tight match to Whakatane 37-29 today.
Today markedthe second day of competition at the Rotorua International Stadium. More games will be played tomorrow and Monday before the playoffs on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Tai Mitchell tournament is a long-standing rugby tournament for the best under-13 players in the Bay of Plenty. The competition features 10 teams from across the Bay.
