He said they did not train during the week so it had taken most of the season to get the team gelling together.
"It has taken us half a year to get going and we are starting to be a handful for opposition teams."
Beckett said the season had been played in good spirits so far and the grounds were in good condition across Rotorua.
The competition includes seven teams from Rotorua and Taupo, with one team getting a bye each week.
The top four sides will progress to the semifinals of the 40-over competition late next month.
In other games today, the Bay of Plenty Indians and Central Cricket Club will meet at Smallbone Park, and Taupo Old Blues and Taupo Wanderers will meet at Kaimanawa Reserve in Taupo.
