Ngongotaha hope to echo perfect start

Ngongotaha AFC will be looking to extend their winning start to the season when they visit Otumoetai.

The orange army got off to a perfect start last weekend, winning 5-0 against visitors Melville.

However, they face a tougher test today in Tauranga, playing against a physical Otumoetai outfit.

The Federation 1 league won't be the only thing on their minds at present, with the Chatham Cup qualifying draw released mid-week.

Ngongotaha will play cross-town rivals Rotorua United in the qualifying round on Anzac Day, April 25.

United will be looking to build towards the Chatham Cup fixture in two weeks after conceding seven against AFC Fury last weekend in their first game of the Federation 1 season.

United play against newly promoted Cambridge today at Neil Hunt Park, at 2.45pm.

In other matches, Melville host AFC Fury, Matamata host Tauranga City, Waikato Unicol host Whakatane and Taupo travel to Tauranga Old Blues.
