Sangster has won two of his three races on a heavy track.
Fiveandahalfstar may be difficult to beat, but as a natural leader he won't be suited by a track that is rated "off" along the inside. Silent Achiever worked brilliantly earlier this week and looks a fine each-way prospect at $13.
Veyron, making his Australian debut in the A$400,000 George Ryder Stakes, is a despised $26.
He is unbeaten on wet tracks in New Zealand, but his problem is the $1.55 favourite Pierro is practically unbeatable when rain is around.
But Veyron is extremely reliable and will run a race.
At Te Aroha's group one raceday, 2-year-old A'Larose (No2, R2) can bounce back. She looked stunning winning on debut on a dead surface at Te Rapa, but did not look as comfortable on a firmer track at Matamata. She should get conditions to suit today. Mistaar (No10, R3) was huge when resuming at Tauranga, flashing into second late. Even from a slightly tough barrier she should go close today.
Waterford (No10, R6) is the type of filly to go well when fresh. There are a few chances and plenty of form in the field, but from the inside barrier she appeals, at least each-way. Silverdale (No3) is underrated. In the big go, Fleur De Lune (No1. R8) will be well suited provided the racing pattern late in the day suits on-pace runners. Forget she went around at Tauranga, nothing went right.
The values on the day could be Dark Bishop (No9, R7) and Sinnfonia (No5, R4).
A trip to Hong Kong is in the offing for King Mufhasa as long as he proves today he has completely recovered from throat surgery.
New Zealand's reigning champion ran well at his first two starts for new trainer Bruce Wallace but was found to have a trapped epiglottis after his failure in the Chipping Norton Stakes.
Wallace said it appeared the problem may have gone undetected for some time but after his work on Tuesday at Randwick, King Mufhasa was given the green light for the George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill today.
"Michael Rodd rode him and and couldn't stop talking about him afterwards," Wallace said on Wednesday.
"He got a big tick from him and has improved enormously since his trial.
"As long as he goes well, he will go to the Champions Mile in Hong Kong on the fifth of May."
Under Stephen McKee, King Mufhasa ran in the past four George Ryders, finishing third to Vision And Power in 2009, third to Danleigh in 2010, 10th to Rangirangdoo in 2011 and fourth to Metal Bender last year.
