Rotorua may be suffering a drought but if you're thirsty for some club rugby then Puarenga Park could be the place to quench that desire.
The banner round semifinals will see some old time rivalry reignited. Whakarewarewa, under a new coach Maurice Stone Snr, will go up against Waikite at
Whaka fortress Puarenga Park tomorrow.
There has never been any love lost between these two sides and with the chance to take on the winner of the other semifinal between Kahukura and Rotoiti it promises to be as hard and uncompromising as the bone dry ground.
As usual the home side will look to use the pace and handling skills of their backs to wear down the giant pack of Waikite. Temperatures for today's match is expected to reach 23C with a light wind for the 2.30pm kickoff.
Up for grabs is a place in next weekend's final to secure the Geyser Land Challenge Shield and Banner. Whaka has won the shield three times (2007, 2008 and 2011) but went down to Rotoiti last year in a titanic battle.
