Cadets, who entered the Williams Cup fourth round with an unbeaten record, batted first at the Tauranga Domain and were removed for what looked to be a modest 130 runs.
Boult top scored for his side with 26 with Morgan Bidois posting 20 runs.
Boult, opening the bowling, immediately had the Greerton top order in desperate trouble, dismissing the first three batsmen for ducks.
Bay of Plenty representative master blaster Brett Hampton showed some resistance to Boult, but when he was removed for 20, Greerton were in real trouble.
Boult continued his express deliveries and finished the match with eight wickets for 37 runs, as Greerton were dismissed for 93.
Te Puke also kept their place at the top of the table alongside Cadets during their close-fought match against Mount Maunganui at the Te Puke Domain.
The home side batted first and reached 183/7, with Mitch McCann top scoring with 80 runs.
The Mount Maunganui top score of 36, by new Bay skipper Peter Drysdale, told the tale of containment by the Te Puke bowling attack.
McCann backed up his performance with the bat by taking four wickets.
The final stages of the encounter turned into a cliffhanger with the Mount bowled out for 179, just four runs short of victory.
