Rotorua soccer coach Robin Parr has been recognised by Sport Bay of Plenty for his long association with the Eastlake Junior Soccer Club.
Mr Parr, who devoted a considerable amount of his free time outside working hours to help youngsters at the club pursue their sporting ambitions, has been awarded
with Sport Maker of the Month certificate through the Thank a Sport Maker campaign.
He became involved in the club when his own family were younger - now they have grown up Mr Parr is still helping out at the clubrooms at training and Saturday morning games.
Mr Parr joined two other Bay of Plenty coaches - slalom canoe administrator Maryanne Washer, and Tarawera High School rugby coach Craig Budd - to be awarded a Sport Maker of the Month certificate.
The Thank a Sport Maker campaign is a partnership between Lotto Volunteer Foundation and Sport NZ which enables the region to a share of more than $1 million of sports clothing and gear awarded through the scheme nationally up until 2016.
