A 3-year-old Taupō girl has become a global hit after a mishap on her mother’s phone led to her sharing some unexpected Christmas spirit.
On Tuesday, Talisha was running errands with her daughter Persia. When they reached the car she handed her daughter her phone to play songs.
But itwasn’t until she got home that she realised Persia hadn’t just been in charge of the music, she had somehow purchased a single drink to be delivered from Subway – using the Door Dash app – to a complete stranger.
“I thought they’d made a mistake and was about to ring Subway to get more detail until I went into the DoorDash app and saw that the order was being picked up,” Talisha told the Herald.
“Seeing the address wasn’t mine and she had just had my phone, all I could come up with was that she had ventured off her DJ duties and placed the order. I just laughed it off and was grateful that was all she had purchased.”
Luckily for Talisha, Persia had only purchased a single 600ml Coke Zero Sugar, which came to $9.93 after delivery to the stranger’s Taupō address, not far up the road.

Talisha then posted about the quirky incident to social media in the hope of finding the person to whom it was delivered.
“I just laughed it off and was grateful that was all she had purchased. I posted it on the [Taupō community] page because I just wanted to let whoever know at that address they’d be expecting an unexpected, random order from a complete stranger,” Persia’s mother said.
The lucky local reached out to Talisha telling her “I got your Coke delivered to my house” and asked if she wanted it back.
After the pair shared a laugh, Talisha said the woman could keep the unexpected gift from her daughter and wished her Merry Christmas.
The mishap soon went viral, attracting thousands of reactions from people as far away as the United Kingdom.

“No clue how I ended up here (I’m in the UK) but HA what a laugh! Imagine opening the door to find a random bottle of Coke there. Brilliant. She’s just sharing the love since it’s holiday season,” one wrote.
Another added: “I’m from Australia and have no idea how I ended up here but I’m glad I did. This is hilarious!”
Others were equally joyous over Persia’s innocent mistake, with viewers calling her a “Christmas fairy”, and warm over her “random act of kindness at Christmas”.
While Talisha is happy for Persia to share the festive spirit, she’s happy she didn’t blow the whole Christmas budget.
“I’m grateful this was all she purchased. She’s purchased around $150 worth of e-books once on her father’s Kindle, so when I say I’m grateful it was just $10, I mean it.”
