A Te Kaha woman was seriously injured when her car collided with a horse last night.
The woman was travelling with two young children east of Omaio about 9.30pm when the incident happened.
The children were not hurt.
The 42-year-old woman was flown by the Tauranga-based Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopterto Tauranga Hospital in a serious condition. She had head and chest injuries.
A statement from rescue helicopter staff said the car's roof was ripped off in the crash and it was unknown what happened to the horse.
