Rotorua will be the ceroc capital this weekend as dancers from across the country gather for the Xtreme Dance Weekend.
This is the seventh year the event has been held and this year features workshops, competitions and a dance party at Rotorua Primary School.
Ceroc lessons are held every weekin Rotorua but this event is for accomplished dancers to improve their skills and to dance with others.
Organiser Claire Andrews has been dancing for 15 years and said she was looking forward to having some fun on the dancefloor. "It's always great fun. I set it up as at the time there wasn't anything in this area ... and it's just grown. It's great to have something for adults, it's a fun and social occasion. It's all about dance, but also the social side."
She said she was looking forward to the workshops on Saturday and Sunday and these include helping those still fairly new to ceroc to gain more confidence to dance. There was also a workshop for intermediate level dancers to pick up lifting skills.
