Fire crews are attending a "well alight" house fire in Owhata.

Fire and Emergency NZ were called to the address on Sunrise Ave at 2.22pm and two crews were sent to the scene.

"The house was well alight when crews arrived and one member of the public has been treated for smoke inhalation," a FENZ spokesman said.

The fire was 10 metres by 15 metres, he said.
