Updated: Woman injured in crash flown to Waikato Hospital (+video)

A 21-year-old Tokoroa woman has suffered serious head injuries in a crash near Rotorua.

A police spokeswoman said the single-vehicle crash happened about 7.30am on State Highway 30 near Whirinaki Valley Rd.

An ambulance media spokeswoman said a woman had been taken to Rotorua Hospital with serious injuries.

A Rotorua spokeswoman said she had since been transferred to Waikato Hospital.

A BayTrust Rescue Helicopter spokesperson said they flew the woman to Waikato at 1.30pm.
