Update:
Two dogs involved in a six-dog brawl have yet to be found by animal control.

A woman has been left shaken after her two small dogs were injured in a fight between another walker's two dogs and two unidentified dogs.

The fight happened around 6.30pm at the Ngongotaha Domain. All six dogs were off their leads at the time.

Rotorua Lakes Council compliance solutions manager Neven Hill said animal control was still looking for the two unidentified dogs, that fled the scene.

He said the incident was a reminder for locals to keep their dogs on leads at all times, unless it is an approved park.

A police communications spokesperson said police were called at 5.40pm to the incident on Domain Ave.

A Rotorua Daily Post reporter at the scene said there were two police cars near a carpark and an ambulance had just left the scene.

The victim did not appear to be seriously injured, she said.

No dogs could be seen, she said.
