A fire at an Ohinemutu property is out.

A reporter at the scene said a garage next to a two-storey house was gutted.

A woman at the house was treated for smoke inhalation but did not require hospital treatment, she said.

Fire crews at the scene did not comment.

Neighbour and Rotorua Lakes Councillor, Trevor Maxwell arrived home and saw the fire.
