One person has been moderately injured in a crash between a truck and a trailer in the eastern Bay of Plenty this afternoon.

Police were called to reports of a crash on Galatea Rd, Waiohau, at 4.30pm.

A police spokesman said the crash was blocking parts of the road, but it has since been cleared.

At the time, motorists were advised to avoid the area.

It was one of a series of crashes in the Bay of Plenty.

Police were alerted to a crash involving two vehicles in Mangakakahi at 4.20pm.

A police spokesman said no one was injured in the crash on Clayton Road.

In Matata, one person sustained minor injuries following a two-vehicle crash on Awaiti South Road in Matata.

Police were alerted at 3.40pm.

Earlier, a car also hit a power pole in Opotiki.

A police spokesman said they were called to the incident on St John St at around 3.10pm.
No one was injured.
