A man involved in a crash in Turangi has died.

He was 19 year-old Orlando Bell

Mr Bell was the rear seat passenger in a Subaru Impreza which collided with a tree on Te Rangi Tautahanga Road about 4pm on Monday.

All three occupants were trapped inside, in a critical condition, and had to be cut out by the Turangi Fire Service.

The driver and front seat passenger remain in Waikato Hospital

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating and is calling for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Police said any information may be relevant, no matter how insignificant it may seem.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Nick Weight from the Taupo Road Policing Group on (07) 378 6060.
