DANCING QUEENS: The ABBA Show is coming to Rotorua's Civic Theatre.

The ABBA Show is coming to Rotorua and the cast is promising to get locals up and dancing.

Showtime Management is bringing the show that pays tribute to the Swedish pop band to Rotorua's Civic Theatre next Saturday as part of a 15-city New Zealand tour.

An international cast will perform ABBA hits such as Dancing Queen, Money, Money, Money and Fernando which topped the charts in the 1970s and early 1980s.

The cast includes Giles Tingey, James Childs, Giselle Van Grinsven and Hannah Pocock.

Tingey will step into the role of Benny Andersson and said he was thrilled to be able to share the music of the "legendary band" with Rotorua.

"To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of ABBA until I was in this show," he said. "But now, I can't get enough of it. They've got some great, timeless tunes and I'm pretty excited."

Tingey, who has been involved in several Showtime tours including Hotel California - The Eagles Experience and Michael Jackson HIStory, said his favourite part about being involved in The ABBA Show was seeing people's reactions to it.

"It's just really great seeing people enjoying themselves, getting dressed up and dancing to the music." Tingey said The ABBA Show is something for everyone.

"It's a show that people from 7 to 70 can enjoy. I think that's why ABBA was so popular, it's music that appeals to everyone."

The show will run from 8pm on April 26.

Tickets are available from Ticketmaster or online at www.ticketmaster.co.nz.
