Blues singers Ali Penney and Dorothy-Jane Gosper are expected to wow audiences on the Lakeland Queen this weekend.

Blues singers Ali Penney and Dorothy-Jane Gosper are expected to wow audiences on the Lakeland Queen this weekend.

Blues fans will be in for a treat when awarding winning singer-songwriters Ali Penney and Dorothy-Jane Gosper take to the stage on the Lakeland Queen tomorrow.

The duo, known as the Divine Devilles, will perform a variety of blues, jazz and soulful tunes at the show, organised by the Bay of Plenty Blues Club.

Club secretary Sally Garner said it was an opportunity for locals to see two "incredibly talented" musicians perform live.

Penney has won several awards during her music career, including the 2012 and 2014 Best Female Artist Award in The Australian Blues Music Chain Awards, while Dorothy-Jane Gosper has performed at many festivals in Australia and around the world.

In 2009 she won the Female Blues Vocalist and Best Blues Album titles at the Canberra Blues Society Blues Awards, before taking out the Best Blues and Jazz Artist title at the 2011 Music ACT Annual Music Awards.

"They really are a powerhouse duo," Mrs Garner said.

"They are fantastic musicians and I'm certain audiences will be blown away by their performance."

The show was also a chance to take a cruise on Rotorua's iconic paddle steamer and enjoy the views of Lake Rotorua, she said.

"It's an event where you can relax, have a drink, listen to great music and enjoy the scenery. What more could you want?"

Mrs Garner said the show was suited to people of all ages, "from children to your granny".

The show will be raising funds for the upcoming Rotorua Blues Festival, which will run from May 28 to June 2.

"It will be a fabulous fun afternoon, so please get a group together and support this worthy event."
