Businesses in Rotorua and across the Bay of Plenty are revving up to take part in this year's Sport Bay of Plenty Tour de Bay corporate cycling challenge.
Companies can enter teams of three in the challenge to try to clock up as many kilometres as possible throughout February. Kilometresare collated each week and added to a virtual map of the region.
Last year more than 90 teams took part in the challenge with some teams chalking up more than 2000km in one month.
As well as a competitive grade, Sport Bay of Plenty has added a social grade. This is more about getting out on your bikes when you can, rather than cycling the furthest.
All Rotorua teams that complete more than 100km will go in a draw to win vouchers from Rotorua Cycle Centre.
Sport Bay of Plenty recreation adviser Jen Riley said it was about giving people a fun incentive to get on their bikes. "Not only is cycling good for your health but it is also a clean and green form of transport."
Entries are now open at www.sportbop.co.nz/tourdebay.
Workplaces must register by January 31 to receive a Tour de Bay map, bike month calendars and bike goodies.
