Police have released the name of the woman killed in a crash near Kawerau in the Eastern Bay of Plenty on the weekend.

She was Peggy Ngataierua Wikohika, 27, from Te Teko.

She was the only person who died in the crash on State Highway 34, also known as Kawerau Loop Rd, about 10.30am on Saturday March 24.
