Boy band JGeeks have cancelled their nationwide Eggs Factor concert tour after just one week.

The popular dance and music group, who played to sold-out venues in 2012, have pulled the pin after just eight gigs of a scheduled 22-concert venue tour.

The YouTube favourites performed at Rotorua on Saturday night to 400 enthusiastic fans.

Ticket prices had been reduced to $10 for the show.

Manager Phillip Windley said a decision was made on Monday to discontinue the tour.

Mr Windley said: "It saddens us to inform fans that the JGeeks Eggs Factor is being discontinued - this includes Hastings and Gisborne. Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of our control we have to cancel the remainder of the JGeeks tour.

"We deeply apologise for this ... the band is gutted.

"We love our fans and supporters and there have been a few rough events take place recently."

Mr Windley said all pre-purchased tickets would be refunded.

Ticket-holders should contact the local ticketing agency.

"We apologise for the inconvenience and truly value your support."

Mr Windley would not explain why the tour had been abandoned.

Fourteen tour dates had been cancelled, he said.

"There's been a number of setbacks which have forced us to call the tour off."

Mr Windley said the band was keen to revisit the tour schedule at a later date. "We will definitely be touring again, and will almost certainly be back in Rotorua."

Before the tour was called off, JGeeks had played at Dargaville, Whangarei, Kaitaia, Hamilton, Tauranga, Whakatane, Rotorua and Taupo.

JGeeks, who were last year's NZ's Got Talent finalists, have attracted 10 million YouTube hits, and 10,000 Facebook followers in their brief history.
