Summer Seafood Festival event manager Larni Hepi said he understood Walker was approaching 2018 with a "new year – new me" attitude.
"He is definitely still headlining the festival on Saturday, we understand he's fit and ready to go," Hepi said.
Fans were quick to acknowledge his performance at One Love, leaving comments on a Facebook post made by Walker about how good it was being back in the Bay.
One described his performance as "freekn amazing". Another said Walker "had those dance moves on. A voice of an angel, what a gift – blessed and sharing".
Hepi said Walker would be the main attraction on the music stage while world-renowned chef and author Robert Oliver would headline the kai stage.
"We've decided to have two stages – the kai stage and the main stage," Hepi said.
"With Walker and Kiwi band Herbs, alongside a number of supporting acts, we've got a strong music line-up.
"On the kai stage Oliver will be doing a cooking demonstration as will Rotorua's Natasha Whitewood and Hera Te Kurapa and 2010 New Zealand MasterChef winner Brett McGregor."
Hepi said tickets to the festival were close to selling out but there would be limited gate sales. Tickets can still be bought at www.seafood.co.nz.
The Te Awara Fisheries Rotorua Summer Seafood Festival takes place on the Village Green.
