Serious crash closes Bay of Plenty road at Broadlands, near Taupō

A person has died after a serious crash between a car and a truck near Taupō.

Police said in a statement the crash happened on Broadlands Rd at Tauhara Forest about 4.20pm Wednesday.

A St John spokeswoman said two ambulances and one manager responded to the scene and treated another person in a moderate condition, who did not require transport to hospital.

The road reopened around 10pm and an investigation into the crash remained ongoing.
