A Rotorua trio of singing siblings have wowed the judges of X Factor NZ with their "perfect performance".
Fare Thee Well, which is comprised of Laura-Lee Stevenson, 20, Jared Stevenson, 22, and Bethany Stevenson, 18, performed in front of a live audience and X Factor NZ judges at Sky Cityin Auckland, singing a cover of the Tom Petty song Free Fallin'.
Their audition was shown on the TV3 show on Tuesday night.
Judge Natalia Kills had a lot of praise for the group, who received a "yes" from all four judges and will now go through to the boot camp stage of the competition.
"That was the most close to a perfect performance we have had on this stage so far."
"I am training to become a primary school teacher, but I had to actually cancel my [degree] because of X Factor, so I'm starting in the second semester."
She said the siblings were learning a lot.
"It's quite interesting, seeing how television actually works, that's what really stood out to all of us. Seeing yourself on the TV is just different, it's exciting.
"It's what we all love to do so I guess in a way it's good to know everyone loves our sound, as we have heaps of good comments.
"It's crazy because not a lot of people can do that. It's cool though because the judges seem to like us and it's a new experience and it's not every day you get to do this.
"Our parents are really proud, they couldn't be more proud."
An X Factor spokeswoman said five other Rotorua-based contestants performed at the TV auditions, but she could not confirm how many would be screened.
