Fellow judge Stan Walker was also impressed. "From the moment you walked out you had incredible dynamics ... that was beautiful."
Laura-Lee said the competition was a great experience, but difficult to juggle with life's commitments.
"It's really fun, it's lots of work and planning around life. It's quite hard because I am getting married in April.
"I am training to become a primary school teacher, but I had to actually cancel my [degree] because of X Factor, so I'm starting in the second semester."
She said the siblings were learning a lot.
"It's quite interesting, seeing how television actually works, that's what really stood out to all of us. Seeing yourself on the TV is just different, it's exciting.
"It's what we all love to do so I guess in a way it's good to know everyone loves our sound, as we have heaps of good comments.
"It's crazy because not a lot of people can do that. It's cool though because the judges seem to like us and it's a new experience and it's not every day you get to do this.
"Our parents are really proud, they couldn't be more proud."
An X Factor spokeswoman said five other Rotorua-based contestants performed at the TV auditions, but she could not confirm how many would be screened.
