Four people have been charged after a homicide in Rotorua yesterday.

Emergency services were called to an alleged assault on Trigg Ave about 12.20pm yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark van Kempen said a man was found in a critical condition, and he died at the scene.

Yesterday afternoon, police arrested a 19-year-old woman and two men aged 20 and 64. A male youth was also arrested.

All four are due to appear in the Rotorua Youth Court today, charged with assault and possessing offensive weapons. Police said further charges were likely.

Van Kempen said no one else was being sought in relation to the homicide.

Witnesses were urged to get in touch. “We are eager to review any CCTV or dashcam footage from the Trigg Ave area around midday yesterday,” van Kempen said.

Anyone with information should make a report at 105 online or by calling 105, using the reference number 250820/8065.
