Calling Rotorua's girls and guys - Kiwi hip-hop group Smashproof wants you to be part of their new music video.

All three Smashproof members - Deach, Sid Diamond and Tyree - will be in Rotorua tomorrow night filming the music video for their track L.A.B at Heaven and Hell nightclub and they're making a call for Rotorua residents to be part of it.

Smashproof is a hip-hop heavyweight in Kiwi music and is the group responsible for breaking a 23-year record in New Zealand with their debut single Brother featuring Gin Wigmore.

Tyree said their new track was all about having fun. The concept of their new video is one big party and and now he's calling on Rotorua's well-dressed girls and guys to join the party. He says anyone wanting to be part of the video should dress hot.

"Look hot, dress to impress," Tyree said.

"It's pretty much just having fun."

He describes L.A.B as a club-banger street single which means it's not an official release but will no doubt be popular on the club scene and will pave the way for their soon-to-be-released official material.

Heaven and Hell was chosen as the venue for the video clip because the lighting at the Rotorua bar would work in with the bass of the song.

"Our new song has a pretty cool bass-line," Tyree says.

Another reason is because he and the rest of the Smashproof boys enjoy themselves in the city.

"We always have fun coming down to Rotorua ... shoot this video with us."

"We always get a good reception [in Rotorua]."

Heaven and Hell co-owner Pato Alvarez is encouraging everyone to come along to the bar and be part of the music video and support Kiwi music.

He says it's not every day a music video for a popular Kiwi group is filmed in Rotorua and residents not only get the chance to be in the music video, they'll also be able to party with the group and be treated to a live performance.

He says it will be a fun night for all.

Doors open at 10pm and entry will cost $5.

Meanwhile, Tyree's new solo album Motivation, featuring collaborations with Che Fu, Scribe, Sid Diamond, Deach and Pieter T, will also be on sale at the venue tomorrow night.
