Rotorua enrolments for the new Tauranga-based Academic Colleges Group school are "on track", said the school's development manager.
The school, which is opening its doors to students in 2015, is the first domestic Academic Colleges Group school to be set up outside Auckland.
Barbara Burns, Academic Colleges Group development manager, said enrolments were going well and were spread across all age groups, from Year 1 to Year 9.
She said the response from Rotorua families had been promising: "We see Rotorua as a very important part of our target group and are pleased with the progress we have been making."
"We are on track with the projections we have set and are now in the process of talking about buses between Rotorua and Tauranga for the students."
Ms Burns said Rotorua played a large role in the marketing for the school, with a number of open days to be held in early February.
"We are offering a private, secular, co-ed school for Rotorua families and have received really positive feedback in regards to what we are offering," she said.
The Academic Colleges Group campus will include an early childhood facility as well as primary school and high school classrooms.
