A Rotorua CBD street is cordoned off following a building fire this morning.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokeswoman said crews were called to Hinemoa St about 7.18am.

“The fire was located in the front of the building, which is approximately 20m by 40m in size.

“The fire has been suppressed and crews are checking for hotspots,” she said.

There were no reports of people inside the building and a fire investigator has been called.

A police cordon is set up at the Hinemoa and Fenton St intersection.

A Rotorua Daily Post reporter at the scene said fire crews and police were at the Yaki Yaki Korean Restaurant.
