Road reopened after serious crash on State Highway 30, between Atiamuri and Rotorua

State Highway 30 has reopened following a serious crash this morning.

Emergency services responded to a two-car crash on SH30, between Atiamuri and Rotorua about 7.10am today.

The road was reported to be blocked and motorists were advised to avoid the area if possible, but it has now reopened.

A St John spokesman said a patient with critical injuries was taken to Rotorua Hospital by ambulance, as well as a patient with moderate injuries.
