Rider in Rotorua Hospital with serious injuries after Crankworx crash

A Crankworx rider is in hospital with serious injuries after a crash at the Rotorua mountain biking event.

He was hurt when he came off his bike during the RockShox Rotorua Pump Track Challenge last night.

A St John spokeswoman said the male was seriously injured and was taken to Rotorua Hospital.

A Crankworx spokeswoman said organisers did not yet have a full report on what happened, "but after every race there is a review process".

She said the rider was in a stable condition today. She would not release his name for privacy reasons.
