The results of the latest commercial radio survey have seen the Coast and Flava come out on top in Rotorua.

The results of the radio survey were released today and showed Paul Hickey's Days on The Hits also saw good results, rating strongly in the city.

Hickey said he was "extremely happy" with the results.

"It's great to know that locals still enjoy hearing local information, news and topics on the radio station and good to know most are choosing us to listen to."

Hickey said he thought he could relate to the majority of the audience and had been in the market for a long time.

"People get familiar with you and know what you're talking about is what they want to hear."

He planned to get out and about in the community a bit more.

Coast has also been revealed as the city's No 1 station in terms of market share, while Flava has the most listeners.

NZME Bay of Plenty general manager Greg Murphy said the results of the commercial radio survey were fantastic.

"The team is doing an outstanding job catering to all markets in the region. To see Coast as the No 1 station with the most market share, and Flava the No 1 station for all listeners below 40 years old is exciting," he said.

"We know our advertisers will be pleased to know they're in good hands. Special mention goes to The Hits' Paul Hickey, our man on the ground here, for taking a top spot for local days announcer."

Coast Radio, Hauraki and The Hits all increased market share according to the results.
