A site on Old Taupo Rd is being cleared by a Rotorua developer but he's staying tight lipped about what he plans to build there.

Tony Bradley from TPB Properties is in the process of clearing the site on Old Taupo Rd near the Mobil service station on Sunset Rd.

However, when asked by the Rotorua Daily Post what he planned to build there, he said he wasn't yet ready to reveal the plans until it had been consented.

"I'm just drawing up the plans now and won't be building anything until next year."

The site was the home of a former milk factory, then a sausage factory but has been empty for several years. A rental car company also leased part of the site, which has now been moved to Bradley's other site on the corner of Te Ngae Rd and Tarawera Rd.

Bradley said he bought the site in 213 but later sold it and bought it back last year.

Meanwhile, his other development at the former Outdoorsman Headquarters site on Tarawera Rd is nearly finished.

He said the new tenants, a yet to be revealed government department, would take over the 900sq m space just after Labour Weekend.

Bradley bought the building at the start of this year and the new tenant will join Bike Culture and a new business called Body Headquarters.
