Timezone is set to open in Rotorua Central Mall, creating more than 20 jobs.
The new site, due to open on December 20, had been “purpose-built to deliver a high-energy, family-friendly experience,” a statement from the company said.
More than 80 interactive games and attractions include the ColourGrid, Spin Zone, Short Lane Bowling, classic arcade games for all ages and three dedicated party rooms.
Timezone said the attraction would initially provide more than 20 new jobs, a mix of fulltime and part-time roles across guest services, party hosting, technical support and venue management.
“We’re hiring for a variety of positions, including our Fun Squad – our friendly venue team members who engage with guests to ensure a welcoming and enjoyable experience – party hosts, skilled technicians, and experienced venue managers."
Timezone said the Central Mall location was easily accessible and welcoming to both locals and tourists.
The 800sq m site formerly housed the mall’s Countdown supermarket.
Timezone general manager James Woodbridge said he was excited to launch the venue in Rotorua.
“This opening reflects our commitment to innovation, community, and creating spaces where people can come together and make lasting memories.”

There would be a curated selection of dance and beat games, including exclusive titles such as DDR Gold, alongside favourites such as maimai and Taiko no Tatsujin.
Motorsport enthusiasts could take the driver’s seat in Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 6, a high-speed racing experience that delivered pulse-pounding action and competitive thrills, he said.
The Prize Vault would have rewards for players with earned tickets.
Opening day celebrations would include exclusive giveaways to the first 300 guests and entertainment.
Customers with current Powercards can use them at the new Timezone Rotorua venue and locations nationwide.
Planning for the new venue began last year.
CityFitness was expected to join Timezone at the former Countdown site next year, the Rotorua Daily Post reported this month.
FreshChoice executive general manager Tim Cartwright said at the opening that the supermarket was creating up to 50 new jobs, using a “locals first” approach.
