The crash, which left two people dead and four others injured, happened along State Highway 1 just after 1pm on Saturday.
A man and woman involved in the Boxing Day collision are
in the intensive care unit at Waikato Hospital in critical conditions, while a 17-year-old man is in the high-dependency unit in a stable condition.
A fourth person injured in the crash, a 14-year-old girl, is in a stable condition in a ward.
The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter and BayTrust Rescue Helicopter from Rotorua were used to transport the patients.
