Education provider NZMA has announced plans to open a Rotorua campus this month.

New Zealand Management Academies will offer level two and three hospitality programmes from a campus on Eruera St.

The programmes were first offered at the New Zealand School of Tourism campus in 2017, said NZMA regional manager Monique Le Marque.

"Opening the Rotorua campus signals the local demand for quality skills, and we aim to cater for students keen to study hospitality," she said.

"There are plans to grow international student numbers which will benefit the Rotorua economy."

Enrolments to the school are open and programmes begin on February 19.

The New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage Service takes six months and covers everything from barista training and customer service to baking and tourism as well as practical training.

"The programmes NZMA will be delivering in Rotorua for 2018 are just the beginning. Longer term we will be looking to offer our full suite of hospitality and hotel management programmes Level 2 to 7," Le Marque said.
