Police are responding to a firearms incident on Koutu Rd, Rotorua.

Police had yet to make any arrests this morning

after a man was shot in Koutu Rd early yesterday

.

Police were called to a house near the intersection with Nihoriki St, about 2am Saturday and were still there at 8pm.

The shot man was taken to Waikato Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A police spokeswoman today said inquiries were ongoing and no arrests had been made.

"I understand that the injured man, a 46-year-old, remains in Waikato Hospital," she said.

Police and CIB vehicles were parked outside the house yesterday and police wearing boiler suits searched inside.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact police on 105, quoting file number 210102/8597.
