A 15-minute police chase ended with spikes in the early hours of this morning in Rotorua.

A vehicle allegedly failed to stop for police in the Springfield area about 2am, a police spokeswoman said.

Road spikes were deployed successfully and a man, 20, was taken into custody within 15 minutes.

Police had a warrant for his arrest, she said.
