Rotorua's Lizzie Marvelly is excited to debut her latest single at the Warriors' final home game tomorrow.

The classical-turned-hip hop and pop singer told the Rotorua Daily Post it would be a great experience to perform Made For You in front of a pumped-up crowd at Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland. The single was released today.

"I am really really excited.

"There's so much energy and they [Warriors fans] are all there for a really good time and there is a lot of passion. I sang the anthem for them at the grand final in Sydney a couple of years ago. Warriors fans - we are really passionate."

The Auckland-based singer said Made For You would also feature in upcoming Kiwi movie Made To Dance.

Her album should be ready next year.

"I am just doing lots of writing and there are lots of songs in the pipeline so we are still putting it together.

"I just really want to get the music out there. I just really want people to listen to the song and see if they like it."

Produced and co-written by Kiwi artist P-Money, Made For You is Marvelly's first hip hop-inspired song.

Marvelly said the shift from classical to hip hop music was not something she over thought.

"You can't really grow up in Rotorua without being influenced by hip hop.

"It's really just happened - there's been no thinking about it, it just feels really awesome and I am so happy singing what I want to sing and writing."

She said she wasn't too nervous about performing in front of the Mt Smart crowd.

"When you boil it down it's just a whole lot of people sharing a song."

Marvelly said she was able to be herself more on stage now.

"I think when you are a classical artist there is a certain way you have to do things which is cool, and it's part of the tradition, but for me I just get to be me on stage."

•Made for You is available on most major music sites including iTunes and Spotify.
