Issac Luke's brother Raymond Luke is elated to hear his younger brother will return to New Zealand after signing with the Warriors.

It was announced on Friday that Luke would join the New Zealand Warriors next year on a three-year deal. The Rabbitohs and Kiwis hooker is one the biggest signings in the club's history.

His older brother, Raymond, plays club league for Ngongotaha and said he was elated when he got the call from his brother saying he was signing with the Warriors.

"I'm really stoked. He has been over there for 14 years so it will be good for him to come home," he said. "The Warriors have always been my team so I've always wanted to see my brother come and play for them."

He said he got a call from his brother a week ago saying he was coming to the Warriors.

"I knew a week ago but I had to keep it hush hush."

While addressing media in South Sydney last week, Issac said playing in front of his family was a big factor in joining the Warriors.

"My old man cried and I told my brother and he cried," he said. "The opportunity to play in front of my father, I'm very close to him and close to all my family back home."
